There are some very succinct yet all-important guidelines to be adhered to when posting. These are as follows:
1. Be as articulate as possible. There is little excuse for writing poorly. If you're in a hurry, post later. Consult a dictionary if you're in doubt about a word, but refrain from being lazy and penning slop. I consult my dictionary regularly, you should too. Words are worthy of our utmost respect; try not to hack them up into nonsense.
2. Have something to say. If you're repeatedly spewing senseless garbage, you're begging to be removed.
3. Don't make baseless assertions: back up your statements with logical explanation -- and expound exhaustively. Give references where they're useful. If you learn something and you wish to illuminate us, then make sure you provide evidence. Provide links. Say you find out something new and interesting...don't just tell us and assume everyone will trust you.
4. Don't be posting arbitrary one-liners. If your statement is useful to the discussion, then fine. Otherwise, refrain from blurting out personal opinions unless they have a foundation in fact.
5. Don't be overly offensive. The terms of service require this to be sternly enforced. This is not the place for foul-mouthed banter.
6. Absolutely DO NOT engage in profane verbal attacks, obscene humor, or racial assaults. Don't be intolerant.
7. Don't spam. If you advertise wares or services here, the same shall be deleted and the offender(s) banned instantly.
8. Don't be ridiculous. If you make absurd claims (such as, e.g., "My belief is right and yours is not"), you'll be removed.
9. Be respectful of others' beliefs, unless they violate the above, in which event they'll be deservedly banned anyhow. If you disagree with another, then explain with impressive expression.
10. Don't threaten anyone or attempt to coerce or convert.
11. Try to contribute effectively, by thinking through your idea and presenting your thesis with thorough attention to detail. But make the ideas your own: DO NOT post another's work, whether literary or graphic, to avoid any copyright entanglements.
There you have it. Post anyway you want, post any idea you want, but keep it fairly clean and remember, always communicate intelligently, and keep your emotions in check, and there will be no problem.
Thank you for your diligent adherence to these simple rules.
Satanas vobiscum...
